Barley Lodge is describing them self as a “nano brewery” but with all the hard work they seem to be putting into it already, we think they might be bigger than they’re expecting. Barley Lodge has not yet announced the date of their grand opening but they’ve been hinting that it’s coming soon! We’re incredibly excited to have them at Taste of Brews Long Beach at the end of August. We can’t wait to get a sneak peak of what’s to come! Make sure to stop by and try them out!

Network Brewery

Another Orange County  brewery will be joining us for Taste of Brews Long Beach! Network Brewery was founded in 2012 by Brian Anderson. After adding his
partners, Michael Totorea and Wes Tait, to the mix, the three were able to work together to create something great. Network Brewery opened in Santa Ana May 7, 2016 and
has been successful so far!

They’re currently brewing eight different beers including a red ale called Santiago Creek and their chocolate milk stout, Unicorn Tipper. Looking for a new place to grab a beer after work or hang out on the weekends? Network Brewery is open Wednesday and Friday through Sunday! You can also check them out August 20th at Taste of Brews Long Beach!

 

Featured Brewery: Evans Brewing Co.

evans brewing bannerEvans Brewing Co. has gone through many changes since it began in 1994.From name changes, to shifts in management to rebuilding after a fire, Evans has seen it all and come out stronger. Today they operate out of three Orange County locations, with their brewery being in Irvine and their restaurant and taproom soon to open in Fullerton. Evans Brewing Company is the oldest craft brewery in Orange County and one of the oldest in Southern California. They produce 9 permanent styles, available year-round as well as several seasonal and small batch options.

Feeling United With I & I

i and iI & I Brewing certainly has a unique outlook on running their business. They focus on unifying themselves with their guests and in doing so take customer service to a whole new level. At I & I you can come catch some live music while you have a beer with the bartender. Feel free to let them know what you think of your drink and don’t hesitate to tell them about what you like about beers you’ve had in the past. At I and I, the employees want to share in the experience with their guests rather than feel like they’re serving them.

At I & I they brew small batch lagers and ales of all flavors. Last year alone they created over 100 recipes and are i and i 2always introducing more. Though an old favorite can come back on tap every now and then, I & I is usually offering something completely new to keep their guests on their toes. We are bey

An OC Local

jtschmids.JPGJT Schmid’s Restaurant and Brewery is local to Anaheim, California. Located in close proximity to the Honda event Center, Angels Stadium and Disneyland, JT Schmid’s has become a local pit-stop for event goers. For those who aren’t stopping in before a concert or a trip to Disneyland, they may be dropping by on their way home from work to catch a bite to eat and a game on one of the TVs in the dining area. In addition to providing a local hangout and place to grab a quick meal, JT Schmid’s ca hefhas five beers that are brewed in house year-round as well as some seasonal beers.

Taste of Brews Long Beach is happy to host JT Schmid’s this year and we can’t wait for youtwo try to of their year-round brews, JT Imperial Stout and California Hefeweizen. The stout is described as full bodied, aged with French oak and the California Hef is lighter and slightly hopped. Both great selections. Make sure to get your tickets for August 20th!

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

sierra-nevada.jpgSierra Nevada Brewing Company started with a homebrew supply shop and a passion for the craft. After years of honing his skills, Ken Grossman founded Sierra Nevada Brewing Company in 1979 and began brewing in 1980. His first brew was an American Stout and today the original recipe differs only slightly from the Sierra Nevada Stout . Today Sierra Nevada serves over a dozen different brews with their seasonal, specialty and high altitude beers.

Sierra Nevada will be serving Hop Hunter, an IPA brewed with distilled hop oil to really enhance the bold IPA flavor and Otra Vez, a new brew! Otra Vez was released this year and has already won the gold medal for session beer at the World Cup of Beer. That’s awesome! We can’t wait for you all to try it on August 20th!

Featured Brewery: MacLeod Ale

macleod ale brewing co (Custom).jpgMacLeod Ale Brewing Company was started by Jennifer and Alistair MacLeod. Jennifer looking for something to finance her musical interests and Alistair wanting to move into a new field, they put their knowledge of business, leadership together with Jennifer’s love for all things British and opened up a brewing company!

Located in Van Nuy’s, California, MacLeod Ale’s kid and dog friendly location is open to the whole family with food trucks serving up food daily. Today they focus almost primarily on macleodbrewing.jpgBritish style ales and take great pride in producing cask style ales. They have brewed dozens of different styles and versions of their beers and have about a dozen or so available in their tasting room at a time. We’re excited to announce that they will be with us on August 20th at Taste of Brews Long Beach! Make sure to get your tickets today!

On the West Coast? We have Lost Coast!

Taste of Brews Long Beach will have Lost Coast Brewbarbs lost coastery this year! Lost Coast Brewery was opened in 1990 by Barbara Groom and now has over 25 years of success under her belt. The brewery has outgrown two different facilities since its original opening and has brok
en two production records, one in 2004 and the other in 2009. Barbara chose to follow the style of English-style ales while adding in a true West Coast flavor with the ingredients she uses.

On August 20th Lost Coast will be serving their Watermelon Wheat beer as well as their ARRGH! Pale Ale. They describe their pale ale as malty with the hops as the “main event”. Make sure to come try it on August 20th!

Great Divide is Back!

great divide schooners.jpgGreat Divide Brewing Company says the Bold Character is just a catch phrase of theirs, it’s the philosophy behind what they brew and how they live. Their founder, Brian Dunn, has a philanthropic mindset and it shows through the work that his company does for th
eir community. All of the materials used to package their products are recycled while 40% of their production is of draft beer to minimize packaging waste. Great Divide also donates funds back to Denver through their own Community Outreach Program and their staff volunteers as a team with other local organizations. While giving back to the community through their time and finances, Great Divide is also providing bold, flavorful beers for their customers to enjoy!

This year you can come out to try their Yeti Imperial Stout and their Colette Farmhouse Ale. Yeti has won several awards including the “Top Beer in Colorado” in 2014 by ratebeer.com. Its bold flavor includes notes of toffee and caramel with a huge amount of American hops. Colette has also won several awards and is said to be “as refreshing as it is complex” by those who brew it, possessing a fruity yet tart taste. We’re excited to see them on August 20th!

Follow the Golden Road to Long Beach

Golden-Road-Brewing.pngGolden Road Brewing was started in 2011 in Los Angeles. They offer a large selection of beers, both year-round and seasonal, with the majority brewed being IPAs. Golden Road will be at Taste of Brews Long Beach with two of their core beers. Heal the Bay IPA was first brewed in 2014 and has been perfected over the last two years. With more IPA’s than anything else, Golden Road definitely knows how to brew a great one. Also being served at TOBLB is their 329 Lager. 329 is the perfect beer to enjoy on a sunny California day…which, let’s face it, is almost every day. We’re excited to see them August 20th!golden road
