Evans Premium Lager recently launched it’s first of three beers to the public. The Original is full of flavor, composed of a perfect body, a true golden color, welcoming aroma and a clean and smooth finish. Containing a Czech yeast, fine American barley styles and a combination of German and American hop varieties. Evans Original can be enjoyed at any time for any occasion, for it delivers the flavor and thirst quenching characteristics every lager fan enjoys.
The Black Lager’s roots stem from the Original, but incorporate substitutions such as dark and chocolate malts to intensify the body and give the beer its color. Lastly a small amount of espresso malts is added as the finishing touch. The Black Lager incorporates all the flavors expected while maintaining a lighter body.
The Light Lager uses the same recipe as the Original but with less malt to lighten up the calories without losing flavor.
Try one today and let us know what you think! http://www.evanslager.com
Evans has also created their own app to find the locations closest to you and to keep track of up and coming events and promotions.https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/evans-lager-official-app/id441318474?mt=8
Einstok is by far the beer that is traveling the furthest for Taste of Brews in Long Beach. Coming all the way from Akureyri, Iceland, Einstok has three main brews to share with you. First is the White Ale, a classic witbier with orange peel and coriander. Next is the Arctic Pale Ale, with both Cascade and Northern Brewer hops. Their Toasted Porter, the 2014 Gold winner at the LA International Commercial Beer Competition, has strong notes of toffee and dark chocolate. Einstok’s seasonal offerings are the Arctic Berry Ale and the Doppelbock.
The pure Icelandic water used in the brewing process gives Einstok a refreshing taste that can’t be matched. See for yourself by going to Taste of Brews on Saturday, August 22nd at Lighthouse Park in Long Beach! 100% of the net proceeds benefit the Long Beach Marine Institute, which promotes marine science education and environmental conservation, in addition to providing scholarships for children who can’t otherwise afford their programs.
Stone Brewing Co., headquartered in Escondido, is bringing their enormously popular beer to Taste of Brews in Long Beach on August 22nd. This will follow their 19th Anniversary Celebration commemorating their long track record of success in the craft beer industry. BeerAdvocate has gone so far as to label them the “All-Time Top Brewery on Planet Earth. The most popular and highest rated brewery ever.” In addition to their year-round releases (including their Smoked Porter and IPA), they’re well-known for their Bastard series.
Some other exciting series include the Stochasticity Project, which embraces a “special and unpredictable series of beers, where exotic notions, ingredients, and ideas coalesce at an interesting and often unexpected endpoint,” and Stone Collaborations, where three brewers from different breweries come together to create a beer without worry of boundaries or expectations. Want to learn even more about the brewery? Stone offers tours daily, with a portion of the proceeds going towards local charities.

Phantom Carriage is one of the newest breweries to join the craft beer scene, and we’re really glad they did! Named after a 1921 Swedish horror film, Phantom Carriage specializes in sour, wild, and wood-aged beers, usually named after contributors to that particular film age. Examples include the Lugosi, a strong dark sour named for the actor who portrayed the original Count Dracula, and the Cushing, a strong blonde sour whose namesake is a British actor who played both Frankenstein and Van Helsing. Their location in Carson is 7,000 square feet and boasts a pilot-batch brewhouse and screening room in addition to a busy tasting room. Founder Martin Svab plans on screening multiple horror classics in events at the brewery. Just this last Saturday, they hosted Night of the Living…Barrel-Aged Dead, where live zombies roamed the premises while guests enjoyed 10 rare guest beers and a screening of the 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead. Be sure to check out http://www.phantomcarriage.com/brewery/ for more awesome events.
