Brew Crew Inc. had its beginnings in early 2012, when home brewer Brad McCauley was introduced to winemaker Vince Pileggi. As their batches grew each week, the two began searching for a building and making plans to potentially go commercial. They met Brad Wicks at the Home Brew Supply shop, and as the Wicks Brewing Company quickly grew, the Brew Crew Inc. was eventually born. Their small batch nano brewery opened in the spring of 2014 and features several individual breweries.

In 1987, siblings Gina and Vince Marsaglia bought a pizza place in Solana Beach. By word of mouth, they turned what used to be a struggling restaurant into a local favorite. Vince started home brewing, and finally began offering craft beers to Pizza Port customers in 1992. In 2008, they opened a premium bottle shop in Carlsbad. The following year, Pizza Port won 9 medals at the 2009 Great American Beer Festival and Pizza Port Carlsbad was named Large Brewpub of the Year. Pizza Port is just blocks from the beach and is well known for its signature foods and handcrafted beers. The Bressi Ranch location even has a canning line! The company has seen a lot of growth over the last few decades, but they still hold true to the mantra “Good Food and Good Beer Bring Good Cheer!”
You can find Pizza Port in Solana Beach, Carlsbad, San Clemente, Ocean Beach, and Bressi Ranch. Visit them at Taste of Brews IE this Saturday on April 18! Purchase tickets now at http://www.tasteofbrews.com/IETOB.html.

The idea behind I & I Brewing is simple. “I & I” means “Unity,” and the brewery focuses on socializing with their guests. According to Chuck, “We enjoy the experience at I & I Brewing as much as our guests, and like to share with them instead of ‘serving.'” They’ll even take input from guests when starting their next brew! Last year, they worked on more than 100 recipes. They don’t name their beers, but rather just describe what went in them or what the style is. And if you’re looking for the next great reggae or ska show, be sure to ask Chuck.

Chris Enegren began his brewery company in the dorm rooms of Loyola Marymount University. He brewed his first batches with extract in a friend’s on-campus apartment stove. Shortly after his brewery began he came to the realization he needed to expand out of the stove top setup and designed, and built, a 10-gallon all grain system that summer. He took his brewery off campus and started to affiliate with his brother. After a year, the boys needed to relocate the brewery. Joe Nascenzi who played lacrosse with Chris offered his backyard and garage – the beginning of the three EBC crew. Enegren Brewing loves creating different brews because they find something special about beers. They are fascinated on how a beer brings people together to celebrate life, mourn an event, and the satisfaction it brings after a long honorable work day.
If you haven’t gotten the chance to enjoy this brew, or have and know how great it is, and would like to have another you are in luck! Enegren Brewing Co. will be in our upcoming event Taste of Brews IE! Purchase your tickets now http://www.tasteofbrews.com/IETOB.html.
